National Protocol for Sexual Assault Forensic Examinations of Adults and Adolescents- 2nd Edition: Impacts on Policy and Practice

Since the Protocol was released in 2004, there have been many changes in science and practice. The revised edition of the Protocol was designed as a guide for practitioners who respond to sexual assault. This webinar will provide an overview of the changes and review the impact on policy and practice.
Sexual violence continues to plague our Nation and destroy lives. All members of society are vulnerable to this crime, regardless of race, gender, ability or social standing. When sexual assault does occur, victims deserve competent and compassionate care. The second edition of the Attorney General’s National Protocol for Sexual Assault Medical Forensic Examinations provides detailed guidance for criminal justice and health care practitioners in responding to the immediate needs of sexual assault victims.
